
Roses Nutrition Ltd was established in 1996 by Dorothy Thomson to provide independent nutrition consultancy to the livestock industry.
The Company name originates from the respective county emblems of Yorkshire and Lancashire, the initial trading area.
Roses Nutrition Ltd has developed a reputation for providing tailored nutritional solutions by working closely with its clients on a long-term basis.
In April 2006 the Company was purchased by Dr Paul Blanchard and continues with the same key objective to provide independent practical advice to livestock producers and the feed industry. Dorothy Thomson continues to provide consultancy support to Roses Nutrition Ltd. Both nutritionists are members of key professional animal nutrition, husbandry and veterinary associations.

Paul Blanchard started his agricultural career working on Lincolnshire
dairy farms, subsequently studying for a Diploma in Dairy Farming at the
Derbyshire College of Agriculture. Following this course he joined J Bibby
Agriculture as a feed salesman before spending a year in New Zealand,
again dairy farming.
Paul then returned to the UK to start a Degree in Agriculture at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne which was followed by a PhD in pig nutrition and meat quality sponsored by the Meat and Livestock Commission. Following a short post-doctoral position at Newcastle, he joined the MLC as Manager of the Stotfold Pig Development Unit before joining leading premix manufacturer Frank Wright Ltd - BASF as Pig Technical Manager in 1998.
He has experience working in USA, Canada, Ukraine and Poland, as well as the main European pig producing countries. Paul was also responsible for Marketing of BASF Products in UK and Ireland and spent a large proportion of time involved in the poultry sector.
He is a regular contributor to a variety of UK and overseas technical and practical animal production publications.
Dorothy Thomson
Dorothy Thomson is an
Accredited Nutritionist who gained an Honours degree in Animal Nutrition
from Reading University.
She spent 10 years as a Nutrition Chemist with ADAS in the North and South East.
Following a career break when her family was young she has worked for ten years in the animal feed industry as an independent nutritionist before setting up Roses Nutrition in 1996.
She is particularly experienced in pipeline liquid feeding of pigs and the evaluation and use of co-products. Dorothy has experience of formulating rations for most species.
